Credit Card

By embedding in the cellphone a computer chip or other type of memory device, a phone can double as a credit card. The chip performs the same function as the magnetic strip on the back of a credit card, storing account information and other data necessary to make a purchase.

The first in the world to apply i-Mode....Docomo

- TAKEN OPPORTUNITY... the first to apply i-mode in the WORLD
- Strength : as the pioneer, everyone will always remember and think you're the best... but you have to keep the quality as pristine as ever

Docomo Market Share is the biggest...

is it STRENGTH ?????
Market Domination above 30% is awesome....
but then Docomo do it above the HALF OF THE MARKET

I think Takeo Tsukada (from IDO Corp., -one of Docomo rival-) quotation is right;
"DoCoMo is like a huge sumo wrestler overpowering the market. There's nowhere left for it to go but overseas."

Docomo 'OTHER BUSINESS'

All this time I think Docomo is just an ordinary cellular operator.
I guess it's just like Telkomsel, XL, or Indosat, here in Indonesia,
but I was wrong...
Docomo is an "OCTOPUS"...........

see below, and you'll know why do I think like that !!!

NTT Docomo CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)

I believe that CSR is one of the 'Good Morale' Business Strategy.
People will see that the company 'CARES', so the company image will be positive.
I'm sure that it "HELPS" to increase the market shares...

This picture below shows the CSR 'blueprint' of NTT Docomo

Docomo Investment in International Operators

Not only having offices & R&D overseas, NTT Docomo also invests on some International / Overseas Operators... not the bigest shares, but "ENOUGH"

As long as I know, NTT Docomo are located "ONLY" in Japan,
but then I found this:

About NTT DOCOMO

The revolution that began with the invention of the mobile phone is changing the world, and NTT DOCOMO has always been at the leading edge of this revolution. Providing a wide variety of leading-edge mobile multimedia services to more than 53 million customers, NTT DOCOMO is one of the world leaders in mobile communications. Docomo’s 1999 launch of i-mode, the world's most popular mobile internet service providing e-mail and internet access to over 48 million subscribers, and then FOMA in 2001 as the world's first 3G mobile service based on W-CDMA transformed the landscape of mobile communications in Japan and won the DOCOMO brand global recognition. But these were just the first steps toward Docomo’s goal of transforming the mobile phone in to a "Lifestyle Infrastructure." Introduced only recently, Docomo’s "Osaifu-Keitai" (mobile phones with wallet functions) which multiplies the convenience of the handset with cashless transactions for everything from riding the subway to shopping already has more than 29 million subscribers - a perfect example of how NTT DOCOMO is not only leading in the field of mobile communications but redefining its role in user's life.

Through the branch offices and wholly owned subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, and North America, and in strategic alliances with mobile and multimedia service providers in Asia-Pacific and Europe, Docomo is expanding global reach. NTT DOCOMO will continue to help user's communicate seamlessly around the world and redefine the role of mobile communications in user's lives.
